Hospital woes!

Well I don"t know of anybody that likes going to the hospital. Its one of those necessary evils in my book. My friend Zeb had to have a complete shoulder rebuild. I told him I would help him out as he recuperated. Well Monday was the day. We rode into Lexington around 10;30 AM and went up to the third floor which would become his new home for the next two nights. The nurses were very friendly and very efficient. Zeb never seemed to be in a lot of pain although the block that they had put in his shoulder came out as soon as he climbed up in the bed. So it was to a Moriphine drip. Push that button became the mantra. I slept in the hospital recliner. Now I"m gonna rant here just a bit so prepare yourself. I"m sure they paid good money for that torture device(recliner) but it was one of the worse things I have slept on in years and I have slept on some pretty hard places to get some sleep. A good Berkline would"ve suited me well or just pitching a sleeping bag on the floor would"ve been ok by me. Anyway after two nights of little to no sleep we headed home. Took us about two hours but we made it home. Went by the vets to pick up Olive Oyl(Poodle) and then his daughter brought Jazzy(Maltese) home. Don"t know if they were prouder to see us or vice versa? Zeb now has a wrap around the waist and over the shoulder sling on his body to hold emmobilize his shoulder. Looks pretty uncomfortable to say the least. He wanted a salad so I made one for him and I opted for a PB&J sandwich. Jif of course.lol. SO now its time for Zeb to rest and me to go bonkers waiting on him and trying to stay busy. He doesn"t complain or whine so that is good. Don"t know that I would do as well.lol. So I will close for now and hope everybody is warm and dry and has a fire burning....HoboJoe
